#49 - Paranoia the Destroyer

I’m not 100% sure — and I’m too lazy to go back and check — but I think that this strip marks the first time that I ever chose a background colour for a panel based solely on its emotive quality. I’m talking about the fifth panel, the bright orange one. Up until this point, I think the background of every panel was just the colour of the location it took place in. I know that’s probably not a big deal to “real” comic artists, but for me it was a pretty big breakthrough, taking a step away from my usual need for machine-like consistency and just winging it.
